Wisdom Teeth

I just had my wisdom teeth removed. Last year the dentist said that they may have grown in fine, but they haven't moved since then so they wanted to take them out before there were any complications.

The operation itself was fine. They poked me in two different places before they could get the IV in (apparently I have tough veins). I was half-awake during the whole thing. The dentists, doctors, nurses, and anesthesians were all really nice and seemed to know what they were doing. I get since this is RMC's "Dental Week", they've had a bit of practice after pulling out the teeth of over one hundred people. As a plus, they didn't have to break my teeth. Apparently my mouth is like a huge warehouse. I can open it really wide and there's a lot of space. They liked that, so I guess I do too.

Right now I'm awake in my room. My escort, Nick, put me to bed, got all my medication ready for my and left a bottle of "Ensure" (a liquid meal-replacement drink) on my desk since I haven't eaten in close to 12 hours (because of the operation requirements). Man, I hate not eating. I'm always hungry, and today was agony because of the lack of food. I shouldn't be complaining though. I am very fortunate to have regular meals everyday and I'm thankful for that. I'm also really thankful that I have a lot of friends who go out of their way to help me out. From car rides, errand runners, and guidance (when under medication) people have all bed very supportive. Even those back home and elsewhere. Assistance is just a text/email/hand-signal/post-it note away.

Well I'm going back to sleep now. The blood and saliva from my mouth has seemed to slow down a bit. Time for some more rest.
